Sculptura Fitness was active in Halifax NS, between 2010 and 2016. When owner Essa moved to Ontario to start a graduate program at the University of Toronto, her clients begged her to continue teaching classes online, so you can still work out with Essa! If you are looking for a super friendly fitness class that feels like hanging out with friends while putting your body through the paces, give us a shout!

This mat-based class is all about challenging that core! With a different combination of exercises each time, this half-hour flies by.

HIIT Bootcamp

Intervals are a fantastic way to maximize your workout time, and experience a more intense cardiovascular and fat-burning effect. The class runs under an hour, including a relaxing flexibility cool-down.

Pilates Bootcamp

This class combine strength training, cardiovascular training and Pilates to give you a focused workout with postural awareness, core strength and stability, and intense strength and cardio interval training. The goal is to keep challenging your body in a new way every time, so you are always increasing muscle tone, strength and flexibility.

About Essa

Sculptura Fitness was founded by Essa Horvath in Halifax, NS in 2010. Essa saw the need for a women’s group fitness class that provides a total body workout including all the components of physical fitness, and exercises that carry into your everyday life through better posture and increased resistance to fatigue. The result: Sculptura’s innovative fusion program.

Essa has experience working in the fitness field teaching bootcamp-style classes, leading activities for neurological and cardiac patients, and providing personal training. She especially loves women’s classes and the supportive atmosphere and inspiration they provide – all while kicking butt! She holds a BSc Kinesiology and a BMus from Dalhousie University.

Essa’s wide range of experience in fitness and coaching combined with her scientific background in exercise create a unique program that keeps you challenged and interested.

Essa was born in Budapest, Hungary, and moved to Canada at the age of 9. She discovered her love of running through cross country racing in elementary school, and continued on the cross country and track & field teams in high school. Essa did gymnastics growing up in Toronto, and Choi Kwang Do and kickboxing in Halifax. She added strength training and gym-style workouts to her routine in university. Since 2007, her dog Balu has kept her company in her outdoor fitness pursuits.
